Dr. Palmer sees a lot of people from the Depew community that are injured at work. According to the National Safety Council, the most common type of work injury is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which include trauma to the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and joints. MSDs account for more than one third of all workplace accidents.
The most ordinary type of MSD is a strain, which is trauma to a muscle or tendon. Strains can be caused by lifting, pushing or pulling too much weight, or by engaging in repetitive movements. Other common MSDs involve carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and back issues.
These injuries can be prevented by using correct lifting techniques, taking several breaks and using ergonomic devices. Employers can also help prevent injuries by providing their employees educational sources on preventing getting hurt on the job.
Back discomfort and injuries are a routine problem that Dr. Palmer sees in our #Ciyt# office and we also work with people who have shoulder or neck issues.
If you have sustained a work injury or accident and live in the Depew community, give Dr. Palmer a call and schedule an appointment today. We will work with you to create a treatment plan that will help you get relief and do our best to get you back on the job as quick as we can!
