Dr. Palmer sees quite a few folks from the Depew region that are injured while working. According to the National Safety Council, the most ordinary type of work injury is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which involves injuries to the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and joints. MSDs account for more than one third of all workplace accidents.
The most common type of MSD is a strain, which is trauma to a muscle or tendon. Strains can be caused by lifting, pushing or pulling too much weight, or by repetitive movements. Other typical MSDs are carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and back problems.
These injuries can be prevented by using correct lifting techniques, taking several breaks and using ergonomic tools. Employers can also help avoid injuries by providing their employees educational sources on how to avoid getting hurt at work.
Back problems and injuries are a ordinary issue that Dr. Palmer sees in our #Ciyt# office and we also work with patients who have shoulder or neck problems.
If you have had a work injury or accident and live in the Depew community, give Dr. Palmer a call and schedule an appointment today. We will work with you to create a treatment plan that will help you heal and do our best to get you back on the job as quick as we can!
